Recently I have started a running joke with my friends at college, stating that I am going to write a book entitled: "Really? Come On!" This is because my life is always full of moments where things seem to be going well, but then fate seems to snap its fingers and snatch said moments away from me. Real "FML" moments, if you will. For example, when I was supposed to get my refund check back from my school at the begining of semester, I was told it would be available the first week of September.
Thus, the first week of September came, and upon going to pick up my check, the Business Administration secretaries kindly let me know with looks of wonder on their faces that my check 'must have been delayed because of labor day'. Fine. 'Come back next week'. Next week approaches, and I enter the BA office, only to hear that 'Julie didn't complete my check yet, and is off until the end of the week'. Great. 'Come back next week'.
Week three approaches (and by this time, I have a large credit card bill due from my school book expenses which I needed my refund check for to pay off my balance--I never get interest) and I head into the BA office. We're old friends now. After inquiring about my check, there is some movement about the office this time. *Everyone is looking in different piles of papers and folders* Then--this gets me every time--one of my old friends goes 'It might have been in that pile of checks that I dropped earlier'.
You must get my point by now..... Yes, I was charged $9.67 interest because I couldn't pay off my whole balance due to not getting my refund check until the fourth week into the semester.
Really? Come on!
